Please come see my sparkly new *ding* artwork on public display for the first time ever! For this new art, I'm reworking found rugs, adding era-appropriate nudes to the naive, docile subject matter of the original rug. My solo show (called "Trashy") opens next Friday June 24 at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago. Please come! I'm draggin' my ass in all the way from Texas, and I'd love to see some familiar, friendly faces. Want a sneak peek? And if anyone there has a place for me to stay that'd be cool too. Oh yes.

The Extra/Ordinary opening in Kansas City went famously. Need pictures to prove it? There is a site for the show now too. While you're there, be sure to peep the 'participating artists' section. Coolio.
05.26.05
Anyone out there from Kansas City? I'm going to be a part of a sweet art show there called Extra-Ordinary. Extra/Ordinary is at The Cube at Beco, and the opening reception is Friday, June 3rd. The show also features two of my favorite artists, Allyson Mitchell and Mark Newport. Wanna see the press release? Also, I offer no excuses for why I've taken so long to update my news, I can only say that I'm sorry. And it won't happen again, promise. I love you too much.

The Sextv segment airs today! Jan 22! It is on the Trio network and it’ll be on at 11:30 tonight (eastern time). It re-airs next Thurs 11:30 EST. The clip should be active on the website as of this Wednesday, Jan 26. Do miss it, yo. I’m in three group shows right now. One is A Reflection on Women in Annapolis, Maryland. See the show card! Next I’m in a show at Here Gallery in Bristol, UK. The show is called Stitch or Swallow, ha ha... And the show’s got some press in Metro, a national free paper in Britain, not too shabby. The third show, called Meticulum, is at the Viking Gallery at the Western Washington University. Here is a picture of my piece in the show. Of course, I was in BUST this month too, read it here. And I finally bought a new scanner and updated the press page on my website to include my recent press in AP, Paper Magazine, and Globe and Mail… check it out now if ya didn’t see the real thing. And don’t forget that Sweet Action is carrying my one and only boy kit! I love the ladeez over there.

It is the day after Thanksgiving, can you believe it’s time to be thinking about the holidays already?!? Please order your kits by Monday December 13 to get them in time for Christmas. Also in December you can find my kits at the Blue Genie Art Bazaar in Austin, SPECTOR’s Red Dot 5 Sale in Philadelphia, the Bizarre Bazaar at The 1300 Gallery in Cleveland (Thanks Anezka Handmade), and now you can find some MALE nude kits at Sweet Action Magazine's online store. Happy holidays!

I’ve been a part of two great shows this month, amazing. The first is a show at ROY G. BIV gallery in Columbus, OH. It is my first time showcasing the kits in a gallery context, and I am thrilled. The show even got a little press. The second is a stellar group show at SPECTOR Gallery in Philadelphia called The Great (re)Masters where all participating artists re-make a famous artwork. Here is the link, and be sure to move your cursor over each artwork. So cool.
11.11.04
My kits have been featured in two magazines this month, yay! Check ‘em out in the Booty Call section of Paper Magazine and in the AP’s Holiday Gift Guide. Links coming soon, once I fix my scanner issues. :)
11.04.04
Check out the Toronto press that I promised you. A Toronto gay culture publication called Fab Magazine featured my work in a fashion segment called Framed. Check it out! Plus Canada’s national newspaper The Globe and Mail wrote a quality article about copyright issues around my work. Read it now.
10.03.04
What a fabulous month it has been! I was part of a great art show in Toronto called Download. It is up at Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography in the 401 Richmond building, so if you are anywhere near Toronto, please go see the show. If not, you can check it out here. There should be some press related to the show, I’ll let you know as that comes out too.
09.12.04
Well two good tidbits since I last wrote, one from the past and another for the future. The fall issue of Black Book came out earlier this month and there is a great article called Debbie Does MoMa? It is about pornography and contemporary art and- you guessed it- they use Soft Porn as the main illustration for the article! I also am quoted throughout. Holy crap. The other news is in regards to my upcoming show in Toronto at Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography. Download opens Thursday September 23, so if you are in the area please come. I will also be a part of a panel discussion the following Saturday.
08.06.04
Oh yeah! Pins and Needles got a beautiful Austin Chronicle write up. I’m so proud.
07.15.04
There is a good show coming up at Camp Fig. The opening is Saturday night the 17th and the show features eight local fiber artists: Karly Hand, Hope Perkins, Tina Lockwood, Marc “Nana” Taylor, Me, Jenny Hart, Chia Guillory, and Jesse Kelly-Landes. I think the show (called Pins and Needles) will be great.
06.15.04
I meant to tell you this sooner, but I have this big show coming up in the fall at Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography in Canada. It opens Sept 24 and I’ll be in a panel discussion on the 25th so please, please come. The show is called Download and it promises to be amazing. I’ll remind you again about it as the opening approaches
05.31.04
Well, the kit thing went well last night, but I didn’t sell as many as I made, so the extras will be going to Parts & Labour on South Congress. I’ll keep my stuff stocked there, so I expect to have some kits there indefinitely. Which of course shouldn’t stop you from going to get one right this second
05.25.04
I’m drowning in work but thought I’d take a sec to tell you about Ladyfest Texas. Soft Porn is going to be in a visual art show at Iron Gate Studios Thursday night, May 27. Hope of Hot Pink Pistol will have work in the show too, so it promises to be good. Then the Ladyfest craft Fair will be Sunday night from 7-10pm at the Ruta Maya. I’ll be debuting my kits there. See you this weekend!
04.09.04
Texas is a good place. Well, Austin is anyway. I’ve made some great friends who have their own artsy businesses (Vickie of Ruby Goes Retro, Karly of Identity Crisis Clothing, Jennifer of Naughty Secretary Club, and Tina of Sparklecraft, to name a few), and they’ve inspired me to start my own business making sexy latch-hook kits! I’m already going back to Ohio, and I’m going to use the lighting studio at my alum to take my own sexy lady photos for kits. This should be fun. Ladyfest TX is coming up Memorial Day weekend so I hope to have my first kits done by then.
03.23.04
Another cool thing about that Woman Made Gallery show. My work was featured on a public radio show in Chicago! Go here to the "Woman Made" segment on March 23. Start listening at minute 4 to hear about me. Although if you listen to the whole thing it's pretty good. Especially if you go here and look at the art pieces as they talk about them.
03.11.04
Oh my God oh my God oh my GOD!! I won first place at the Woman Made show 7th International Open. My prize is a solo show there next June. Chicago, here I come!!
2.27.04
Greetings from Texas. I don’t always write about the group shows I’m in, but this one seems pretty good. The Woman Made Gallery in Chicago is having this show called 7th International Open. I’m psyched about it because all fifty-two rugs of my Cyber Girls of the Week series are being shown together for the first time. I wish I could go to the opening tonight but I can’t, with the move and all.
